Wk 4 Walls

Walls took 4 days in total.

The first day the west and south corner walls were built and erected. This picture was snapped before the "hands" arrived to lift the south wall laying on the slab.

The west wall corner was built and erected with just Howard and I. The south wall, twenty feet in total, was in two pieces and required an extra hand because the eastern most section had a flap of sheathing that overlapped the southwest section and therefore had to be raised and steadied before the southwest corner could be lifted.

Day two the east and remaining west wall were built and raised.

The east wall was raised without sheathing due to weight. This was the only section of wall that I built without sheathing before erecting.

This is the last of the framed walls as I was scrambling to get the framing finished before the rain. I worked late after erecting this south wall to build the two east walls. I raised those the next morning, then built and raised the north wall. I had enough time the next day to piece some of the areas missing sheathing and cover the walls in vapor barrier as well as the top plates and the interior studs with plastic. The rain would stall off the installation of rafters for a day or two.
