20 Questions #13. What single thought/ideology do you tap consistently that brings you 100% return on investment?

Zen Master Suzuki Roshi said, "In the beginner's mind there are infinite possibilities; in the experts mind, there are few."
Infinite possibilities exist in every moment. Burdened with fallibility, I miss some opportunities to embrace a new perspective allowing a new behavior to form. In those moment of complete awareness, I can pass on the entrapment of ego-laiden requests (one presented itself this morning to which I immediately fell prey), and forego the need to establish an identity.


A beginner's mind is a wonderer's mind, the three and four year old without boundaries - completely open to the situation. If embraced the emptiness affords a deluge of space to revel, dream, live.


Beginner's mind is a humbling state, thwarted often for "I know." I see that now more than ever.

Today the torrential rain drives the art of listening and writing, contemplating the change and watching with indifference past behaviors fade. Cleansing drops drenched me as I cleaned the gutters in the downpour. Absolute best time to clean gutters is during a heavy rain. I'm wet but light, free from the idea of "being crazy to clean gutters in the rain." Ha! I'm not crazy, just first (Jaimie Lima).
